F.A.Q.s

We specialize primarily on fine French advertising and prestigious brand names.

We are among the very few to offer antique advertisements published in magazines from the 40s and 50s. We do not sell reproductions!

At this point we have only one frame size since we focus on publications and magazines with a format of 24.5 x 31.5cm or 9″44 x 12″2.

We use very high quality anodised black aluminium frames designed in Switzerland. Anodising is a surface treatment, which protects and decorates aluminium materials using an anodic oxidation process. It makes the frame more hard-wearing and more resistant to corrosion and heat. We use float glass, which has a very flat and clear surface and carefully polished edges. We frame all the illustrations ourselves in our workshop and the frames are numbered and stamped with “Vintage Advertising Art”. Each frame is also delivered with a certificate of authenticity stating its number and certifying that the illustration is a genuine antique. The result is a magnificent picture, an original combination of a period illustration and a high quality frame that is both refined and very modern.

We only use acid-free mounts only, for optimum protection and conservation.

The illustrations we offer were published in magazines mostly from the 40s and 50s which have of course been leafed through. These marks made from reading and flicking through the magazines – slightly crumpled paper or sometimes slight stains or spots – are completely normal and are a guarantee that your illustration is genuine.

All our frames are delivered with a certificate of authenticity issued by us and attesting that the illustration is an antique. This certificate states the category of the illustration, the country of publication, the printing technique, the size and lastly, the frame number. Each frame is stamped “Vintage Advertising Art”, a guarantee of our quality standards.

We usually process orders within 48 hours but it may take up to three working days.

All our frames have protective PE corners, are securely covered with a layer of foam and bubble-wrap and placed in ajustable double wall corrugated inserts that lock the frame in position.
